Which module class for which project

  • 01

    Residential rooftops

The all-black 450 W class. An all-black module sits better against a roof than a silver frame does, and the smaller format is easier to carry and lift onto a pitch.

  • 02

    Commercial rooftops and carports

The 550 W or 590 W class, depending on the string window and the roof area you have to fill.

  • 03

    Ground-mounted and utility-scale arrays

Step up to the 590 W or 630 W class. Higher power per module means fewer modules for the same array, so less racking, less cable, and less labour on site.

Module specification

for the people who quote.

The engineering and commercial points that decide a module order — not an introduction to what a solar module is.

  • 01

Class choice is a balance-of-system decision

Higher power per module means fewer modules, less racking, less cable and less labour for the same array. Match the class to the string window — every class carries a 1500 V system voltage rating — and settle the array layout before the price.

  • 02

    Degradation: N-type against PERC

The N-type TOPCon classes publish under 1.0% degradation in the first year and 0.40% a year thereafter. The PERC bifacial class publishes under 2.0% and 0.45%. Over 25 years of cash flow that difference is worth modelling rather than assuming.

  • 03

Bifacial gain: where it actually converts

Rear-side yield tracks albedo and mounting height. The datasheets publish backside gain at 5%, 15% and 25% albedo: white membrane roofs and elevated ground mounts on light gravel convert; dark shingle and flush residential mounts largely do not. Design the string on the front side and treat the rear as upside.

  • 04

    Weight, footprint and handling

24 kg on the 54-cell class and 31.5 to 32.5 kg on the 72-cell classes. The 550 W and 590 W share a single 2278 × 1134 mm footprint, so one racking layout carries across both.

  • 05

    Certification and project documentation

IEC 61215:2021 and IEC 61730:2023 module qualification, with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and IEC 62941 manufacturing systems behind them. Datasheets, certificates and the jurisdiction-specific documents your AHJ and incentive programme ask for, lined up before the quote rather than after the purchase order.

Something not covered? Ask our team ↗

What module technologies can UniGlory Energy supply?+

Our module range covers N-type TOPCon and PERC bifacial, for residential, commercial, and utility-scale applications.

What is the degradation rate of the modules?+

The N-type TOPCon classes are rated at under 1.0% degradation in the first year and 0.40% a year thereafter. The PERC bifacial class is rated at under 2.0% in the first year and 0.45% a year thereafter.

What are the load ratings and the operating range?+

All four classes carry a 2400 Pa wind load and a 5400 Pa snow load rating, an IP68 junction box, and an operating range of −40 to +85 °C.

What order sizes do you handle for modules?+

We can discuss project-scale quantities as well as flexible-quantity orders for distribution and installation businesses. Send us the target quantity and we will confirm what we can source.

Where do you deliver solar modules?+

UniGlory Energy is based in Phelan, California, and serves the U.S. market with nationwide delivery.

Can you match modules to an existing system design?+

Send us the design requirements — power class, dimensions, and the certifications your jurisdiction requires — and our team will match them against available supply.

Which module power class should I choose?+

It follows the application. Residential rooftops suit the all-black 450 W class; commercial rooftops and carports suit the 550 W or 590 W class; ground-mounted arrays suit the higher 590 W or 630 W class, where fewer modules mean less racking and less labour.
